

IPATH Pilates Mat Training

It is also the perfect complement to the IPATH Restorative Yoga Programs that are offered currently in the U.S.A., Italy and Spain.

IPATH Mat Pilates starts with the therapeutic Heart Opening sequence, to encourage myofascial release to lengthen the body and relieve tension prior to strengthening exercises.

This training course is intended to springboard off of the IPATH Restorative Yoga alignment and lengthening process, as a progression from a release practice to structural Integration, and musculoskeletal adjustments.

The IPATH Mat Pilates sequence, cultivates core strength and awareness for all populations with injuries and back/body pain.
This program consists of 20 hours of online lecture, discussion, and exercise practice, and exercise analysis divided into three modules.

Module 1- Body Mapping
A historical overview of Pilates is presented, plus the IPATH® approach and the importance of safety when teaching Pilates are discussed. The sequence includes myofascial release first, Mat second.
Primary concepts covered are core strength and the relationship of the various muscle groups that make up the core with a particular focus on the abdominals and the back extensors. Contraindications, effective exercises, and the importance of understanding your client’s needs and body type are discussed. Also addressed is the role of the teacher and the importance of flow and recovery in a session. Block Placement - neurological orientation

Module 2
An overview of the pelvic floor, breathe integration. along with the IPATH® approach furthering the understanding of mindfulness and somatic movements. Pilates are discussed. Repertoire includes fundamental Myofascial release first, Mat exercises second. Primary concepts covered are core strength and the relationship of the various muscle groups that make up the core with a particular focus on the abdominals and the back extensors. Contraindications, effective exercises, and the importance of understanding your client’s needs and body type are discussed.

Module 3
Primary concepts covered include the IPATH® sequence of movement analysis, exercise physiology, and aerobic/anaerobic exercise. The IPATH® format of teaching is discussed and the Block Placement®, the format is introduced. Primary concepts covered are the principles of alignment and posture assessment. Discussion includes exercise as a tool for assessment. Repertoire covered is a beginner to intermediate to advanced Mat. Primary concepts include an in-depth look into exercise adaptation and the use of hands-off assists and modifications. The exam will be available online.
